Iskenderun Technical University was established in the Iskenderun district of Hatay on March 13, 2015. Most of the faculties that make up Iskenderun Technical University were separated from Mustafa Kemal University and linked to the new university.

Iskenderun Technical University offers the Erasmus International Student Exchange Program in many European countries, including Germany and Italy. It also has relations with many universities in the United States and around the world.

Iskenderun Technical University is accredited by the Turkish Ministry of Higher Education and recognized in most Arab countries. The university does not require any admission tests; only a high school diploma is required for admission.
