Sanko University was founded on June 18, 2003, by the Sani Konukoglu Foundation. Located in the center of Gaziantep, it specializes in teaching only medical and health sciences. The university consists of three main faculties: the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry, and the Faculty of Health Sciences. Turkish is the primary language for all programs offered at the university.

Sanko University is a cornerstone of the region's historical and cultural heritage. Built in Gaziantep, it is one of the first specialized medical universities in Turkey. The hospital affiliated with the university is considered one of the best hospitals in Turkey in terms of facilities and services.

The university includes numerous student clubs that contribute to the effective use of free time and promote social and cultural interaction among students. These clubs aim to develop their members socially and culturally, while also creating a family atmosphere within the university.
