Boğaziçi University, also known as "Bosphorus University" in Turkish, is one of the largest public universities in Turkey. Founded in Istanbul, specifically on the European side of Turkey's economic and commercial capital, and located directly on the Bosphorus Strait, it was founded in 1971. It is ranked third among Turkish universities and 624th globally.
Boğaziçi University boasts a spacious campus and a highly efficient infrastructure that provides numerous public services and facilities. For example, it houses a large library, one of the largest university libraries in Turkey. With a capacity of approximately 1,200 seats, it houses more than 481,000 books and more than 79,000 electronic journals and newspapers, in addition to approximately 3 million electronic books, 620 printed journals, and approximately 194 interactive databases.
The presence of this large and diverse library at Boğaziçi University is a rich cultural heritage that contributes to providing a rich source of knowledge and scientific research for faculty and students. Other facilities at the university, such as advanced laboratories and research centers, and modern communication and networking facilities, also contribute to providing a modern educational environment.
