Bilkent University was founded in 1984 in Ankara by Professor İhsan Dogramaci, who founded several academic institutions, the first of which was Bilkent University. Bilkent is Turkey's first non-profit university, and is rapidly becoming a distinguished institution in the field of higher education and scientific research, working to disseminate knowledge and science.

About the university's educational level
Bilkent University students receive a very high level of education, as the university always strives to be among the top universities in the rankings and expand its circle of international recognition. The university includes many faculties that contain a large number of different academic specializations, vocational schools, graduate schools, institutes, and more than 45 graduate programs and specializations. It also contains nearly 1,000 highly experienced university professors, and English is the primary language of instruction at the university.
