Recep Tayyip Erdogan University
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University was established by Parliamentary Act No. 26111 dated March 17, 2006, under the name Rize University, after the city in which it was founded, located in northeastern Turkey. However, on April 11, 2012, the name of the university was changed from Rize to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University in recognition of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who represents a symbol of challenge, leadership, and excellence in Türkiye and whose hometown is Rize.

The university has a highly experienced academic staff, 12 colleges, 41 departments, 7 theoretical and applied research centers, and a huge educational library containing millions of valuable books and volumes. The language of instruction at the university is Turkish.
