Sakarya University
Sakarya University was founded in northwestern Turkey, about a half-hour bus ride from Istanbul. The university began in 1970 as an engineering and architecture institute, and in 1971, it was transformed into a major engineering and architecture academy, receiving government support.

From 1982 to 1992, Sakarya University was affiliated with Istanbul Technical University as a Faculty of Engineering. On July 3, 1992, the Sakarya Engineering and Architecture Academy was transformed into Sakarya Comprehensive Education University by Law No. 3837 of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
