Kocaeli Science and Technology University
Kocaeli University, a Turkish state university, was founded in 1992 and comprises six faculties, three institutes, and a vocational training institute. However, after the 1999 earthquake that destroyed 75% of the university's buildings, the decision was made to build the university on a new site constructed in the city of Uşpılar. After four years of construction, the new building of Kocaeli University was completed, and the university opened its doors to students in 2005, with 15 faculties.
