The oldest and largest university in Turkey, Istanbul Cerrahpaşa University is a well-established state university that was separated from Istanbul State University. It was founded in 1453 AD after the conquest of Istanbul by the Ottoman army led by Sultan Mehmed II (the Conqueror). The university's teaching languages are: Turkish, English, and Arabic.
