Establishment of a university
Namik Kemal University
It is one of the state universities located in the city of Tekirdağ. The university was established on March 17, 2006 by merging the Faculty of Agriculture, the Faculty of Engineering in Çorlu, the Institute of Health and the Institute of Health Services in Çorlu, which were all affiliated with Trakya University. The current rector is Prof. Dr. Osman Çimşek, and his deputies are Prof. Dr. Mehmet İhsan Soysal, Prof. Dr. Şefik Koraltay and Prof. Dr. İsmail Yılmaz.
