Tourist residence in Türkiye:
A tourist residence permit in Turkey is a permit granted to visitors wishing to explore the country for a period exceeding the duration of a regular visa. To obtain this type of residence permit, visitors must prepare a file containing certain documents and submit it to the Turkish Presidency of Migration and Foreigners Affairs. The application is reviewed and a decision is issued within a period ranging from one week to 90 days.
Depending on the validity of their passport and the availability of an insurance policy, visitors can apply for a one- or two-year residency permit. This system allows tourists to enjoy a long stay in Turkey without having to worry about visa renewals, contributing to a comprehensive exploration of Turkish life and culture.

Important notes:

The names must be distributed in the first and last name boxes so that when the first and last name are combined, the result will be identical to your name in the passport, because changing the name after the residency permit is issued is very costly and difficult, and you will encounter problems related to opening bank accounts or procedures with the notary public due to the lack of matching.
* Use a recent biometric photo less than 6 months old. Some residencies have been rejected because of the photo.
* Declare your source of income and your ability to live sufficiently in Türkiye, and state the correct amount of your income in Turkish lira and its source.
* Filling in the profession field is very important.
* Indicate the date of moving to the address in Türkiye as closely as possible to the date of the lease or the date of ownership of the property.
* Accurately link the health insurance number and date to the appointment request (therefore, health insurance must be obtained before starting the appointment procedures).
Make sure you write your passport number and start and end dates correctly, otherwise you will not be able to complete the application.
* Enter a valid Turkish phone number and email, otherwise you will not be able to complete and follow up on the request later.
* The most important note is that you do not book an appointment for residency before entering Turkey, whether you are applying for a residency for the first time or renewing it. Booking an appointment before entering Turkey is a major reason for your residency permit to be rejected. The Immigration Department website gives you three options for applying for residency for the first time, meaning that you are applying for the first time and you have a valid visa that has not expired. The second option is to extend or renew the residency permit if you have a residency permit and intend to renew it with the same type for the second time. Changing the type of residency permit if you have a residency permit, for example, a tourist permit and want to change it to a family permit or any other type.
Mandatory health insurance for residence in Türkiye:
It is mandatory for individuals between the ages of 18 and 65. For individuals younger than 18 and older than 65, health insurance is not a requirement for obtaining residency. Tax number:
It is implicitly required to pay the residence fees that we will mention later and can be obtained through the Tax Department website.

The cost of obtaining a tourist residence permit in Türkiye for the year 2024 ranges between $125 and $262 per year, and between $265 and $517 for two years. These costs include health insurance and residence fees.
Personal photos:
The Immigration Department requires a recent biometric photo (less than 6 months old). Four photos are required for both new and renewal residency applications. Lease contract:
The Immigration Department requires a rental contract from applicants for residence permits stating the names of all persons over the age of 18, including each person signing the contract, along with the details and signatures of the apartment owner (the lessor). A very important piece of information about the rental contract is that the new rental contract now requires the presence of all tenants, along with their passports, and the apartment owner, along with their ID cards if they are Turkish citizens (their legal representative may represent them). The rental contract has become a condition and is binding. An original copy must be present in the file of each adult over the age of 18, while a non-original copy is sufficient for children under the age of 18. If the residence permit application is for renewal, a population registration certificate (ADRES KAYIT) may be added, which replaces the rental contract only for renewal purposes.
